Monday, May 26, 2008: The officers of the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department wish to congratulate firefighters Joseph Gianfrancesco and Mike Matejak for successfully completing Firefighter II.
Volunteers Complete Medical Response Technician Course
Thursday, May 22, 2008: 13 Greenwich volunteer firefighters complete training for their Medical Response Technician (MRT) certification.
Firefighters Practice Cold Water Rescue Techniques
Sunday, February 24, 2008: The cold weather didn't stop over 35 volunteer firefighters from throughout Greenwich from taking to the Mianus River today to practice life-saving rescue skills. Donning cold water rescue suits to protect them from the water and cold, firefighters took turns entering the ice-covered river to perform simulated rescues.
