Welcome to the official website of the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Located in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, SBVFD has been providing fire and rescue service since 1904. Comprised of dedicated professional volunteers, SBVFD responds to approximately 900 - 1,000 calls a year including alarms, fires, accidents, technical rescue incidents and public service requests. As the designed "technical rescue" department for the Town of Greenwich, Sound Beach personnel receive extensive training in rescue operations including rope rescue, confined space rescue, trench rescue and collapse operations. The department also has an active SCUBA Rescue and Recovery Team that responds year-round to water related emergencies.

On behalf of the Officers and Members of the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department, thank you for visiting our website and for your continued support.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Alan Yantorno
District Chief
